Why is the 'df' command taking a lot of time in RHGS versions 3.5.1 ( 6.0-29 ) and above?

Issue

  • In Gluster versions 3.5.1 and above ( package versions 6.0-29 or better ), any command accessing a disperse volume, like ls or df, might take a lot of time to return.
  • This issue is observed in environments where hundreds of Gluster native clients are accessing the same volume.
  • Why is this occurring? How to fix this issue?

Environment

  • Red Hat Gluster storage version 3.5.1 and above.
  • Openshift Container Storage version 3.11.5 and above.
