Resources requests and limits specified in `stepTemplate` are not applied to `initContainer` when executing `TaskRun` in RHOCP 4 OpenShift Pipelines

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • When executing a 'Task' or 'ClusterTask' with {.spec.stepTemplate.resources} field populated with requests and or limits, those requests and limits are not applied to the 'initContainer' but only to 'Containers' (identified as 'Steps' in OpenShift Pipelines Task).
  • OpenShift Pipeline (Tekton) 'initContainer' does not apply resource requests and limits specified in {.spec.steps}and {.spec.stepTemplate}.

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP)
    • 4.7
    • 4.6
  • OpenShift Pipelines
    • 1.x
