wpa_supplicant continues writing to old log file after log rotation

After log rotation as per the default configuration file
/etc/logrotate.d/wpa_supplicant,wpa_supplicant.serviceis still writing to old log file. -
After the
wpa_supplicant.serviceis restarted, it writes to new log file.
