Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • ntpd changes the hwclock with 8 hours earlier than system date
  • When I reboot a server which had time properly synced with ntpdate, the time goes 3 hours off. Syncing again, rebooting, and the time is off again.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
  • ntp
  • hwclock
