rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred

Issue

  •    Running the following rsync command with option  -X ( preserver extended attribute ) produces the following error.

                         root@test01> rsync -axHAX --delete /. /tmp/selinux/.
                     rsync: rsync_xal_set: lsetxattr("selinux","security.selinux") failed: Permission denied (13)
                     rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors) (code 23) at main.c(1039) [sender=3.0.6]

Environment

  •   Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  •   Selinux Enabled
