Issue

How to configure SSSD to authenticate non-POSIX users for application only access?

  • Application (e.g. MariaDB) is required to authenticate centrally managed POSIX and non-POSIX users.
  • However, non-POSIX users should not have system access.
  • Two users have been created in AD server:
    • user1: POSIX user with uidNumber attribute
    • user2: non-POSIX user without uidNumber attribute
  • RHEL host joined AD domain with SSSD.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
    • sssd
