After upgrade to kernel-3.10.0-327.13.1.el7 the mlx4_core driver is unable to initialize

Issue

  • After upgrading from kernel-3.10.0-327.13.1.el7 to kernel-3.10.0-1160.6.1.el7.x86_64themlx4_core` driver is not able to initialize the devices and prints the following errors:
Mar 28 14:47:19 hostname kernel: mlx4_core 0000:xx:xx.x: Failed to initialize memory region table, aborting
Mar 28 14:47:20 hostname kernel: mlx4_core: probe of 0000:xx:xx.x failed with error -12

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.9
  • kernel-3.10.0-1160.6.1.el7+
  • mlx4_core NIC driver
