Printers print mostly blank pages beginning with "%!PS-Adobe" in Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Issue

  • Report printing in "stair-step" format

  • My printers stopped printing and started printing blank pages with this following message:

    %!PS-Adobe-3.1 
              %ADO_DSC_Encoding: MacOS Roman 
                                            %%Title: AcroCBI1D7.pdf 
                                                                   %%Creator: Ad </code>

  • Our Canon printers are printing documents that look like:

    %!PS-Adobe-3.0
              %%Title: iqzaer3A.farzefe.80025.txt

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Common Unix Printing System (CUPS)
