Error trying to call an EJB2 SLSB remotely from a stand-alone client in JBoss EAP 5.1

Issue

Application getting the following error while trying to make a remote call to a stateless session bean (slsb) deployed in JBoss. The exception is - "java.lang.Exception: Can not make remoting client invocation due to not being connected to server."
The following jars are included in the ejb client classpath:

jboss-serialization.jar
jboss-common-core.jar
jboss-remoting.jar
jbosssx-client.jar
jboss-javaee.jar
