Slow IO operations on device-mapper devices, like LVM snapshots, stripped volumes or RAID
Issue
- When reading or writing data to device-mapper volume, I can see significant performance drop. When looking into the
iostatI can see low percentage of merged IOs.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
- Kernel versions: kernel-4.18.0-193.1.2.el8_2.x86_64 and bellow
