pvcreate erroring out while creating PVs on EMC powerpath devices.
Issue
- pvcreate fails to create physical volumes on newly discovered disks. Commenting out the lvm filters did not help.
[root]# pvcreate /dev/emcpoweri
Device /dev/emcpoweri not found (or ignored by filtering).
- The filter in /etc/lvm/lvm.conf is as following :
filter entry in /etc/lvm/lvm.conf:
filter = [ "a/ciss.*/", "a/emcpower.*/", "r/.*/" ] #Required for EMC PP - Do Not Modify this Line
