memory.usage_in_bytes and memory.kmem.usage_in_bytes of cgroup on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 is greater than the usages on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.3
Issue
-
Although the workload isn't changed from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.3 and the older, memory.usage_in_bytes and memory.kmem.usage_in_bytes of cgroup on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 seems to be greater than the usages on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.3. As the result, the workload may be terminated by OOM killer because the memory usage exceeds the memory.limit_in_bytes.
-
memory.usage_in_bytes and memory.kmem.usage_in_bytes have value even though there is no tasks in the group.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4
- The system uses memory.usage_in_bytes and/or memory.limit_in_bytes of memory cgroup
