Issue

  • The following warning messages are seen on boot on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 as a KVM or Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization guest:
No kdump initial ramdisk found.[WARNING]
Rebuilding /boot/initrd-2.6.32-131.4.1.el6.x86_64kdump.img
cat: /sys/block/vda/device/model: No such file or directory
cat: /sys/block/vda/device/type: No such file or directory
cat: /sys/block/vda/device/model: No such file or directory

Starting kdump:[  OK  ]
