Issue

  • Intermittently one of NFS clients shows different word count results by command wc.
[user01@NFSclient1]# wc -l /DATA/file1.csv
878 /DATA/file1.csv

[user01@NFSclient2]# wc -l /DATA/file1.csv
878 /DATA/file1.csv

[user01@NFSclient3]# wc -l /DATA/file1.csv
878 /DATA/file1.csv

[user01@NFSclient4]# wc -l /DATA/file1.csv
878 /DATA/file1.csv

[user01@NFSclient5]# wc -l /DATA/file1.csv 
826 /DATA/file1.csv

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • NFS Clients
  • security module secfs2 is enabled for NFS filesystem on each NFS Client nodes.
