How do I setup ABRT to work through a proxy server?

Issue

  • When trying to send an automatic bug report via RHTSupport, you get the following error:
 error in case creation: curl\_easy\_perform: Couldn't connect to server
  • No report is uploaded to the Red Hat Support Customer Portal

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0 and 6.1
  • abrt-1.1.16-3.el6 or earlier
  • A network infrastructure where internet traffic must pass through a proxy server
