Issue

  • We're trying to print to a printer, but we're getting the following message in the CUPS Error Log:

    D [25/Jan/2021:10:51:19 -0500] Create-Job server-error-not-accepting-jobs: Destination "printer-Xerox6510dn" is not accepting jobs.

  • The output of lpstat -t for a print queue shows that the queue is enabled, but not accepting jobs:

    $ lpstat -t | grep PR3415
    device for PR3415: socket://10.1.2.3
    PR3415 not accepting requests since Mon Feb  8 15:06:24 2021 -
    printer PR3415 is idle. enabled since Mon Feb 8 15:06:24 2021

  • We configured the printer, but queuing is disabled state:

    # lpc status PR3415
    PR3415:
            printer is on device 'socket' speed -1
            queuing is disabled
            printing is enabled
            no entries
            daemon present
