Custom RHEL 7 Installation Fails Due To "Protected multilib versions" Warning.

Issue

  • When installing RHEL 7 from the RHEL 7.9 DVD and also having the installer (Anaconda) use a custom repository that includes the updates that has been published since RHEL 7.9's September 2020 release date.
  • Among the packages that are specified to be installed via the kickstart file are the keepalived, net-snmp and net-snmp-utils packages.
  • The installation fails with a "Protected multilib versions" warning.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (RHEL 7)
  • Installation uses custom repository.
