Why virt-manager fails to add 16th disk with error message "no more space for disks of type xvd/vdb"?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • One of the virtual machine has 16 storage disks already attached to it. when I try to add another disk via virt-manager,  it fails with the below error message.

no more space for disks of type xvd/vdb

How can I resolve this? Is there still a limit of 16 disk per guest in RHEL?

Environment
