Configuration Channel File Contents editor dialog doesn't work in Internet Explorer 9

Environment

  • Red Hat Network Satellite 5.4
  • Internet Explorer 9

Issue

  • Using Internet Explorer 9, the editor in the 'File Contents' area is not reliable because random highlighting and cursor overrides occur. Attempting to use the 'Toggle editor' tickbox doesn't resolve the issue.

Resolution

This bug is resolved in Red Hat Network Satellite version 5.5. The associated Errata for the 5.5 release are:

If you cannot upgrade to Red Hat Network Satellite v5.5, a workaround is to enable "Compatibility Mode" for this page in Internet Explorer 9: see http://cggallant.blogspot.com/2011/03/document-compatibility-modes-in.html

For example:
1) Press F12,
2) Change "Document Mode" to "IE8 Standards"
