Overcloud deploy fails during "Start containers for step {{ step }} using paunch"

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • While running a Overcloud deployment, the deployment fails at the following Ansible task:
Start containers for step {{ step }} using paunch

https://github.com/openstack/tripleo-heat-templates/blob/stable/train/common/deploy-steps-tasks.yaml#L160-L180

  • Checking the logs, we can see the following error:
stderr: Error: error creating container storage: the container name \"clustercheck\" is already in use by \"025ed15fd33b1c2b072bdb3612d869e7c833ce2957ccd158687d1e231afb6a19\". You have to remove that container to be able to reuse that name.: that name is already in use
