Kernel tainted with TECH_PREVIEW flag because of kTLS in presence of Mellanox card

Issue

The kernel is marked as tainted with the TECH_PREVIEW flag in presence of Mellanox ConnectX-5 card with the following notice in the kernel log buffer:

[    1.312690] TECH PREVIEW: kTLS may not be fully supported.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.3 (kernel version 4.18.0-240.el8.x86_64)
  • Mellanox Technologies MT28800 Family [ConnectX-5 Ex] [15b3:1019] card or similar
