loginctl fails to list sessions for non-privileged user
Issue
- Executing
loginctlas a non-privileged user results in a permissions error. - Executing
systemctl is-activeas a non-privileged user returns a status of unknown even if the service is running properly. - The issue can be temporarily resolved with a reboot of the host, but will return again after an indeterminate time.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.8
- Quest Authentication Services is enabled and running
- vasclnt-4.2.0-24754
- SELinux is set to Enforcing on the host
