Issue

  • The print requests are taking 5 seconds to be sent to the print server.
  • We are using "cups-browsed" to automatically share printers. Subsequent jobs on the printing client are being delayed for five seconds.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server (RHEL) release, 7.7 (and later updates); RHEL 8
  • cups-filters-1.0.35-26 and later versions
  • cups-browsed is in use to provide automatic printer sharing and/or high-availability
