RHVH 4.4 fails to boot from SAN

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

After installing RHVH 4.4 on an external FC disk, the next boot fails with the error Failed to mount /boot. The boot process swiches to the real root and it's stuck forever in the kdump service.

Environment

  • Red Hat Virtualization Host (RHVH) 4.4
  • Boot from SAN
  • HBA using driver qla2xxx: Fibre Channel [0c04]: QLogic Corp. ISP2722-based 16/32Gb Fibre Channel to PCIe Adapter [1077:2261] (rev 01)
  • Storage array NetApp in C-Mode
