What are the lines in /proc/interrupts referring to when they show an Ethernet device with an additional number across multiple lines in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.6
Issue
- The same ethernet device shows multiple times in /proc/interrupts
- The /proc/interrupt file shows the same ethernet device spread across multiple lines. This is independant of VLAN, bonding or bridging.
For example:
# cat proc/interrupts | grep eth0
155: 2708302 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 PCI-MSI-X eth0-0
163: 38017 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 PCI-MSI-X eth0-1
171: 303680 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 PCI-MSI-X eth0-2
179: 291655 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 PCI-MSI-X eth0-3
187: 41740 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 PCI-MSI-X eth0-4
195: 198451 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 PCI-MSI-X eth0-5
203: 2384 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 PCI-MSI-X eth0-6
211: 276563 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 PCI-MSI-X eth0-7
