Not able to access to Red Hat Customer Portal due to redirect loop
Environment
- Red Hat Customer Portal
- Multiple operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Issue
- Not able to access to Red Hat Customer Portal (access.redhat.com) due to redirect loop.
- The user is able to log into www.redhat.com.
- Deleting the user's browser's cache and cookies has no effect.
Resolution
The most common reason that this happens to users is that your computer’s clock has become out of sync with a network time service. Please confirm that your computer’s clock is kept in sync with a network time service using the instructions for your operating system and version.
Instructions for Red Hat Enterprise Linux:
-
Check if the system time is correct via GUI or
timedatectl- If the system time is not correctly adjusted, fix the time and retry again.
-
If the system time is correctly adjusted and time synchronization via
chronyis configured, then force a manual synchronization withsudo chronyc makestep
Diagnostic Steps
Attempt to log into access.redhat.com. If a user experiences a redirect loop at that time, attempt to log in to www.redhat.com. If the user successfully logs in to www.redhat.com with no visible redirect loop then this solution is likely to be applicable.
This solution is part of Red Hat’s fast-track publication program, providing a huge library of solutions that Red Hat engineers have created while supporting our customers.
