New nodes created with machinesets are not registred as instance in the AWS Load Balancers.

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • I'm installing OCP in AWS using UPI. After the installation completes, in the AWS LoadBalancer for the OpenShift Ingress all the cluster nodes appear as instances registered in the AWS LoadBalancer.
  • If I create a new node by hand, when the node is registered in the cluster, this node automatically appears as a registered instance in the AWS LoadBalancer.
  • But if I create the node using MachineSets the node is not automatically registered in the AWS LoadBalancer.
  • How does this "automatic registration" work as instances in an AWS LB object generated from a kubernetes LoadBalancer services? Is it needed some special tag/label in the new nodes?

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
    • 4.5
