RHEV guest will not start after restoring the RHEV database.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After restoring the RHEV database, a guest fails to boot when Run is selected in the Admin Portal.

  • The guest's console shows;

Boot failed: could not read the boot disk 

No bootable device.
  • If Run Once is selected then the guest will boot.

  • Powering off the guest, then deactivating and reactivating the boot disk allows the VM to be booted via Run.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 3.2
