BuildConfigs that use "dots" in their names are producing wrong labels on resulting builds

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • BuildConfig names that include semantic version number i.e. X.Y.Z i.e has dots in their names ( for example: bc-33.snapshot-webservice-2 ), creates buildslabels with truncated like : bc-33 and not bc-33.snapshot-webservice-2
  • When BuildConfigs are created with dot in their names, the parameter successfulBuildsHistoryLimit does not honor the integer value passed to it and delete all builds starting with bc-33

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
    • 4.4
    • 4.5
