Is it possible to suppress LDAP users temporarily on a client?
Issue
-
An application (i.e. DB2) checks for the existence of a user.
-
The user already exists in the directory, the lookup should be prevented temporarily for the application's installation script to succeed.
Environment
-
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 server using
-
LDAP directory (i.e. OpenLDAP, ActiveDirectory) accessed by the server
-
Policy not allowing the server to temporarily not use the LDAP services
