Clustered postgres-8 resource fails to start with "PID File Exists For postgres-8:<name>" in RHEL 5 or 6

Issue

  • When I reboot a node and it tries to start the postgres-8 resource, it fails with "PID File Exists"

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 or 6 with the High Availability Add On
  • RHEL 5: rgmanager (any release)
  • RHEL 6:
  • One or more services with a postgres-8 resource in /etc/cluster/cluster.conf
