Why does PV created with 0kb .vmdk file size at vSphere and PVC stuck in pending state with "https://vSphere.example.com:443/sdk: EOF" error?

Issue

  • PVC stuck in pending state for a long time and the controller manager log shows error: "failed to provision volume for claim "default/pvc-vsphere-1" with StorageClass "abc": Post https://vSphere.example.com:443/sdk: EOF".
