NFS data corruption issue when retransmitting write with O_DIRECT RPC calls

Issue

• A NFS client DI issue and patch was described on the linux NFS list

• In reviewing the code in xprtsock.c and using systemtap on xs_tcp_send_request it would appear the Red Hat 6.x kernels would be exposed to this issue.

  • Can the Red Hat NFS team provide input on this issue?

  • Can Red Hat confirm that this appears to be a valid exposure in the Red Hat RHEL 6.x kernel. If so, does the patch provided on the email list appear to be a valid method to address the issue?
