SSSD doesn't print password expiry warning when authenticating via pubkey method

Issue

While trying to set up SSSDin combination with our LDAP server I'm having the problem that sssd doesn't print password expiry warnings. I do see the password warning when using pam_ldap instead of pam_sss, so there is no problem in the LDAP configuration.

Here's the relevant part of my sssd.conf:

ldap_access_order = expire
ldap_pwd_policy = shadow
ldap_account_expire_policy = shadow

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
  • SSSD
  • LDAP
