JON availability check for Apache host or virtual host results in 400 response in access.log

Issue

  • Using an availability URL of 'http://127.0.0.1:10443' put 400 errors into the Apache web server log files

  • When using a an HTTP URL with an HTTPS web server, availability shows UP but access.log contains "400 Bad Request" response messages each time availability check is performed

Environment

  • JBoss Operations Network (JON) 2.4.1, 3.1.2
  • Apache HTTP Server plug-in for JON
  • Apache HTTP Server (httpd) running with an SSL listener
  • URL used in plug-in configuration points to SSL listener with HTTP protocol
