ReaR backup preparation (rear format) mistakenly executed on the wrong disk, LVM no longer listing LVs or PVs.

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

# rear format -- -e -y /dev/sdc

Above command was executed on wrong sd* device - which has overwritten LVM metadata, causing LVM to not list any PV's or LV's when using LVM related commands such as pvs, lvs, etc.

ReaR has created the following partition layout where previously there were no partitions:

# cat /proc/partitions | grep sdc
   8 32 4686839808 sdc
   8 33 409600 sdc1
   8 34 4686420992 sdc2
