How to pass data from camel route to cxf interceptor?

Issue

I have a camel route with exception handling. I'd like to be able to pass data from the "onException" to one of the cxf interceptors.
What is the best way to accomplish this?
Can something be put in the camel exchange that will be mapped into the cxf message?
