Issue

When the brd driver is built in to the kernel there is no way to change the number or size of the ramdisks without rebooting the system which is inconvenient.
If it were built as a module then the rd_nr and rd_size module options could be used to adjust the ramdisks as needed.
Redhat usually builds everything they can as modules so why the exception for the brd driver?
Fedora builds it as a module and there does not seem to be anything in the boot process which depends on it.
