RHEL 7.6 - During a cable pull over test with Qlogic HBA and host connected to the storage in point-to-point topology, not all I/O to scsi devices would complete
Issue
- During a cable pull over test with
Qlogic HBAand host connected to the storage inpoint-to-pointtopology, not all I/O toscsi deviceswould complete - I/O to
scsi devicesthrough a qla2xxx HBA can become stuck after link loss and not fail over inpoint-to-pointconfiguration - During a
multipathtest, it was discovered that not all I/O would fail over after pulling one of two fibre channel cables connectingqla2xxxHBAs to storage. Some I/Os would become stuck in therequest queuesof the unreachablescsidevice paths.
If this occurs with switch connected in between the host and the storage, update to RHEL 7.7 (kernel-3.10.0-1062) kernel or to later kernels.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.6
- FC Qlogic HBA in a host connected to storage in point-to-point configuration
