Unable to detach/re-attach persistent volumes when using static provisioning with VMware vSAN

Issue

When using the static provisioning method of storage on VMware vSAN, persistentVolumes aren't detached correctly, and therefor cannot re-attach to new pods/nodes when a pod is recreated for any reason.
