Replication may fail after upgrading from Red Hat Directory Server version 8.1 to 8.2

Issue

After upgrading Red Hat Directory Server (RHDS) version 8.1 to version 8.2 on several servers in a multi-master replication infrastructure, replication between the nodes may fail.

Log messages similar to this can be found in the RHDS error log (with replication debugging enabled):

[01/Mar/2011:15:30:06 +0000] NSMMReplicationPlugin - Total update aborted: Replication agreement for "agmt="cn=server1" (server1:389)" cannot be updated while the replica is disabled
[01/Mar/2011:15:30:06 +0000] NSMMReplicationPlugin - (If the suffix is disabled you must enable it then restart the server for replication to take place).
