Incorrect screen offset with GTK-based applications when using a Wacom Cintiq tablet in dual-head configuration in RHEL 5

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When using a Wacom Cintiq tablet in dual-head with GTK-based applications such as The GIMP, the coordinates in the window do not match the actual cursor coordinates on screen, causing an offset. This only happens in a dual-head screen configuration with the Cintiq and a monitor. It's doesn't happen with a single Cintiq tablet.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.6
  • Wacom Cintiq tablet
  • Dual-head setup
  • Extended input device used in "screen" mode
  • gtk+-1.2 or gtk-2.x based applications such as The GIMP
