Why are two log files created when '%m' is specified for samba log level ?

%mis specified for "log file", insmb.conf, two log files one with IP address and another with NetBIOS name of the client is created. Is this a specification/design of samba? -
Is there a method of integrating the logs of
<IP address.logand<NetBIOS name>.log?
