Why are two log files created when '%m' is specified for samba log level ?

when %m is specified for "log file", in smb.conf, two log files one with IP address and another with NetBIOS name of the client is created. Is this a specification/design of samba?
Is there a method of integrating the logs of <IP address.log and <NetBIOS name>.log?
