  • A SMB client hangs when accessing a soft mounted SMB share.
  • The password for the account accessing the SMB share has recently changed.
  • Client logs record STATUS_ACCOUNT_LOCKED_OUT error messages.
  • This behavior is observed regardless of the SMB version.

  • NTLM(SSP) authentication
