Extension "RANDR" missing on display when displaying RHEL 6 X11 applications on Mac OS X X11

Issue

The user is getting following warning messages when trying to open an X11 application on a remote Apple X11 session. The application starts up and is usable but it prints the following warning message to console:

Xlib:  extension "RANDR" missing on display "localhost:<X>.<X>".

The same applications from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 systems do not throw the same warning message.
