Why does VMs with CDROM attached hang when iso domain is inaccessible on RHEV Host ?

Issue

  • Guest OS hang when RHEV Hosts are not able to access the iso domain from which the iso image is attached to guest .
  • Guest OS goes to hung state / VM is seen as 'Not Responding' state in webadmin portal , when attached cdrom is accessed .

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 3.x
  • Red Hat Virtualization 4.0 and 4.1
