VM failed to run with mdev_type instance in RHV 4.4
Issue
- VM failed to run after adding
Nvidia vGPUinstance using below steps:
Login to RHV portal -> click on VM name -> host devices tab -> manage vGPU, select Nvidia instane and click "save" button.
with error in vdsm.log:
The vm start process failed (vm:871)
...
libvirt.libvirtError: internal error: Process exited prior to exec: libvirt: error : failed to access '/sys/bus/mdev/devices/e1f27070-b062-4ea3-a689-89e37a56f677/iommu_group': No such file or directory
- Another issue similar to this is described in RHV VM performance dropped after updating NVIDIA drivers and rebooting the host.
Environment
- Red Hat Virtualization 4.3, 4.4
- RHEL7.8 host NVidia GRID 10.2 GA driver(Tesla M60)
-- NVIDIA-vGPU-rhel-7.8-440.87.x86_64 - RHEL 8.2 host NVidia host drivers (Tesla M60):
