How to compare system profiles on Red Hat Network(RHN) ?

Environment

  • How to compare system profiles between two servers on Red Hat Network(RHN) ?
  • How to compare two profiles of same system on RHN ?

Resolution

  • Create a profile for system(s) using below steps:

    • Open system profile on RHN Classic.
    • Add Management entitlement to it from Properties tab.
    • Go to Software tab and click on Compare Package Profiles / Manage Package Profiles link.
    • Click on button Create System Profile and add name and description for it.
    • Click on Create Profile button.

  • Compare the two profiles:

    • Go to Software tab and select Compare Package Profiles / Manage Package Profiles link.
    • Here different profiles of same system can be compared using option Compare to Stored Profile or two different system's profiles can be compared from option Compare to System.
