hostname -s returns unknown host

Issue

The command hostname -s returns "hostname: Unknown host" even if the hostname is correctly set and retrievable in its long form with 'hostname'

An example:

# hostname

testhost.localdomain.com

# hostname -s
hostname: Unknown host
