Customer portal errata pages should hint on which container images contain the errata/fix

Issue

I would like to have erratas linked directly to the version of a container which contains that errata package.

Example use case:

  • I am a customer and I am running Openstack 13. The current Red Hat strategy is not to "install that as single packages", but as one container image. So I am then running RHOSP containers.
  • These are the packages in the RHOSP 13 image: https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/191/ver=13/rhel---7/13.0/x86_64/packages. For Openstack 13 (and other products), Red Hats way of distribution is containers, and not errata packages.
  • Now the customer gets aware of a new fix, we publish an RHBA. In the RHEL based world, the customer would compare the rpm versions, and understand if his RHEL systems are having the versions which include the fix. Now, related to containers, Red Hats RHBA says that "the RHOSP image is affected". What the customer would like though is to direclty see "version 1.2.3.4 and later of the RHOSP image contain the errata rpm".

Environment

  • Various Red Hat products
  • Customer portal
  • containers
  • RHBA
